4.How To Find Personal Peace
You may be asking, "How can I find meaning and purpose in
life? How can I find peace of mind and a secure future? What does the Bible
teach about personal peace and eternal happiness?"
The Bible reveals some very important facts about human beings-about you and everyone in this world.
1. God created Adam and Eve. Genesis
1:31. They were created to be happy, healthy and holy, and to
live forever. But they were created with the power of free choice.
2. Adam and Eve chose to sin against God. Genesis
3:1-6. Sin separates from God. Isaiah
59:2. Sin takes away happiness and health and peace of mind.
3. Adam and Eve passed on to their offspring - to every
person who has lived - the nature to sin. And death has come to the whole
human race, for "the wages of sin is death."Romans
6:23.
4. But God did not abandon the human race - "For God so
loved the world that He gave His... Son that whoever believes in Him should
not perish."
John 3:16. God gave a Gift and "the gift ... is eternal life in Christ
Jesus our Lord. " Romans
6:23.
We receive this life "through faith." Ephesians
2:8. In receiving-accepting Jesus as our personal Savior-we receive
eternal life.
5. Being saved means to "choose for yourselves this day whom
you will serve" (Joshua
24:15), to use our power of free choice and make an intelligent commitment
of our will to God.
6. Step Number One to salvation and personal peace is to
recognize you are a sinner. "God be merciful to me a sinner." Luke
18:13.
7. Step Two, "Repent therefore and be converted. "
Acts 3:19.
Repentance means a change of attidude. Be sorry for the sin that has
separated you from God and "submit to God. " James
4:7.
8. Step Three, accept the fact that you cannot save yourself.
Believe that Christ died for you. Confess your sins. 1
John 1:9.
Decide that through the gift of divine power you want to be a Christian.
Galatians
2:20. That you want to show your love for God through willing obedience
to His law and His revealed will.
John 14:15.
9. The Christians life is a life of sharing. Jesus said,
"Go home to your friends and tell them what great things the Lord has done
for you" Mark
5:19.
Do you want the assurance of salvation? Do you want peace in your heart?
Open your heart right now and say, "Jesus, I believe in You. Jesus, I accept
You as my Savior. "Jesus will lift the quilt of sin from your shoulders
and give you personal peace.
