8.God`s Eternal Sing For Today

Heart disease is a leading killer in many nations and one of the primary contributors to this disease is emotional stress. Does God as Creator of our bodies have a cure for the stress and tension of our day?

The Bible reveals a 6,000-year-old remedy for stress and tension. It`s in the book of Genesis where we read, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" and "Let us make man in our image," and "On the seventh day God ended his work... and He rested on the seventh day... Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work." Genesis 1:1,26; 2:2,3.

Right in the heart of God`s Ten Commandment Law is heaven`s solution to stress and tension. "Remember the Sabbtah day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor ... but the seventh day is the Sabbath... For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth... and rested the seventh day." Genesis 20:8-11.

The Sabbath was given as God`s symbol of his creation - a weekly reminder we did not simply evolve. The Sabbath is the emblem of God`s authority and that we owe our allegiance to Him. It is impossible to keep the Sabbath and forget God. And resting mentally, physically and spiritually after six days of taxing mental and physical labor in a very competitive world is the best medicine for stress and tension. God designed our bodies to function at top efficiency with this weekly fellowship with our Creator.

The seventh-day Sabbath was made by Jesus, our Creator. Note the logic: "The Sabbath was made for man." Mark 2:27.
"All things were made through Him (Christ); and without Him nothing was made that was made." John 1:3.
Therefore, Jesus Christ made the Sabbath. He is the God of Genesis 2:3 who "blessed the seventh day and sanctified." Jesus took the seventh day and (1) rested on it, (2) blessed it, (3) sanctified it. No other day of the week was chosen to be His sign of creation and authority.

The seventh-day Sabbath was God`s sign from Adam to the cross. It is God`s sign throughout the New Testament for Jesus said, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law ... but to fulfill." Matthew 5:17. Jesus did not abolish the Law or the Sabbath for they are eternal. When this world is destroyed and a new one is created, the Law will continue as the basis of God`s government and the Sabbath will still be the sign of his creation and authority.
"'From one Sabbbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me, 'says the Lord." Isaiah 66:23.

God said, "Hallow My Sabbath, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God." Ezekiel 20:20. Do you know Jesus as Your Saviour and Lord? Make His sign your sign of complete loyalty to Him and rest securely in Him."
